Spring moving along

It wasn't more than a couple weeks ago that the bench was all covered with snow - no snow anymore! The ants are busy building their nests, birches are in "flower" and I saw the first wood anemonies of this spring today :)

Opening of the grilling season

Sun didn't come out yesterday, but after the drizzle was over, we fired up our grill for the first time this spring.

A very sprigy weekend

Fantastic sunshine after the rain! The crocuses are in full bloom. We worked on our backyard the whole weekend, taking out the summer stuff, shoveling some persistant snow from our veranda, planting herbs etc.

The exceptionally snowy winter, in memoriam

Maybe not so exceptional, since it was the third "exceptionally snowy" winter in a row. At best it was beautiful, at worst, a snowhell. This way or that, here's its picture obituary.

Last snowfall of the spring

Hopefully the last one ;) On April 8th, we woke up to a good 5 cm of new snow and glorious sunshine.

The exceptionally cold March

'Twas the coldest March in decades, and after an equally exceptionally snowy winter, it felt like spring would never come - although according to the calendar it already was spring.
